Reflection Ministries of Texas, an emergency assessment center and residential home for victims of sex trafficking, has opened its Cottages at The Village in Midland.
Reflection Ministries was founded to provide assistance to victims of sex trafficking. The goal is to provide stability, safety, healing opportunities and an extension of God's love and grace to victims who have experienced uncertainty, change and violence. There is an emergency assessment center, second stage homes and aftercare programs. Residents can stay for up to four years, after which they transition to a supportive community.
Cottages provide a semi-supervised living space with common kitchen, living and laundry facilities. Medical and counseling services are provided to residents, and each resident embarks on a customized educational curriculum. They also have opportunities to practice life skills with their peers, including time management, meal preparation and budgeting, all while seeking restoration in multiple areas of their lives.
"We built a village because of you," Lisa Bownds, CEO and founder of Reflection Ministries of Texas, said. "We built a village, we're allowing people to come in and lives to be changed on a daily basis because of you."

"Thank you to our stakeholders that have partnered with us, that have saw us through crummy times, that have said keep going because we believe in you," Bownds said. "We want to say thank you and we want to share a little bit about what's happened and where we are now and what the fruit of your labor has been and say please don't forget about us. We still need your support, we still need your prayers, we still need your encouragement."
