Midland Junior College post Ella Tofaeono will continue her basketball career in the Lone Star State as she inks to play for the Texas A&M women's team.
Despite never having set foot in Aggieland, the forward was all in after taking a virtual tour, calling Texas A&M “the perfect fit” for her.
“I just know it’s a great opportunity to play at a high level, but I’m also going to a place renowned for its education, so it was just the perfect fit for me,” she told The Bryan-College Station Eagle.
Described by Midland coach Ron Jones as a physical player who can score in various ways, Tofaeono is projected to give the Aggie front court a boost. Last season, she scored 11.4 points a game and grabbed 6.5 rebounds per game.
Tofaeono suffered a torn ACL she suffered two seasons ago but that setback laid the groundwork for her decision to take her talents to College Station, she said.
