Midland County Public Libraries patrons can now receive library items curbside since library buildings are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Curbside is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, according to Midland County Public Libraries’ April 24 Facebook post. Items are picked up at the Downtown Library at the Plaza, located at 301 W. Missouri Ave.

Patrons may reserve items in three ways: online, by calling (432) 688-4331 or the Midland County Public Libraries Helpline (432) 742-7410.  Patrons will receive phone or email notification that their items are ready to be picked up, according to the Facebook post.

“Library staff will place your checked-out items in the designated area,” the webpage of Curbside Service says. “Staff will not hand items directly to your or accept any items from you. Return your items using the book drops at either location (downtown library or Centennial Library at 2503 W. Loop 250 North)".

Patrons are limited to 20 items per vehicle, and their account must be in good standing, the webpage said.

Library officials are exploring the possibility of adding curbside service at the Centennial Library, according to the Facebook post.
