The Midland Police Department (MPD) is set to participate in the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) Career Fair on March 27. The event will take place at the UTPB Gym, located at 4901 E. University Blvd., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., as said by MPD in a Facebook post dated March 26. Current university students and alumni with an interest in law enforcement careers are encouraged to attend.
"Stop by, chat with our officers, and see if MPD is the right fit for you," the department wrote.
Additionally, MPD announced it will host another testing day on April 12 at the Midland Police Range, located at 4214 FM 307. More information can be found on their website at midlandtexas.gov/JoinMidlandPD.
According to the department's website, applicants interested in joining must have at least a high school diploma or GED, be aged 21 or older, possess a valid Texas driver's license, and have no felony convictions. They must also meet all conditions required for obtaining the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education Basic Peace Officer Certification.
