A video showing a Lowboy trailer stuck on the railroad tracks at the intersection of Garfield Street and Industrial Avenue in south Midland is gaining widespread attention online.
According to the video, the trailer became lodged on the tracks before a front-end loader operator intervened and pushed the vehicle to safety before a train arrived.
In emergency situations where a vehicle is stuck on train tracks, instead of calling 911 as the first response, individuals should use the emergency contact numbers posted at railroad crossings, which connect directly to the railroad conductor or dispatch center.
According to Operation Lifesaver Rail Safety Education, these numbers are located on signs near every crossing and provide the fastest way to alert train operators to slow down or stop the train.
It appears that no injuries were reported in the incident.
