President Trump has signed a Congressional Review Act (CRA) into law, effectively reversing a natural gas tax imposed during President Biden's administration. The bill was introduced by Congressman August Pfluger from Texas and aims to remove what he describes as burdensome regulations in the energy sector.

Rep. Pfluger expressed his satisfaction with the legislation being enacted, stating, "I was honored to witness President Trump sign my monumental legislation into law to deliver on the mandate to remove burdensome regulations in the energy industry and unleash American energy." He emphasized that this action is part of his broader mission to restore American energy dominance.

Senator John Hoeven, who led the Senate companion for the CRA, also commented on its significance. "The Biden administration handcuffed our energy industry with unnecessary regulations and burdensome taxes," he said. Hoeven highlighted that blocking the natural gas tax is an important step towards reducing inflation and enhancing national energy independence.

The CRA was introduced last month by Rep. Pfluger along with Congressman Jodey Arrington and Senator Hoeven. It targets an Environmental Protection Agency charge on waste emissions from petroleum and natural gas operations, which they argue negatively impacts producers in regions like the Permian Basin.

This legislative move received support from key Republican figures and stakeholders within the energy sector after passing through both houses of Congress.
