A vacant building at 103 S. A St. in Midland is set to undergo a $450,000 transformation into El Sinaloense Mariscos & Bar, a Mexican-themed seafood restaurant and bar.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) revealed that the project is being led by George Sosa of Sosa One LLC. The project will remodel the 3,672-square-foot structure into the restaurant. Construction is set to begin on Feb. 1 and is expected to be completed by June 1.
The building, constructed in 1948 and renovated in 2012, was previously used as a bar and restaurant. The space includes an open dining area, kitchen, restrooms, and an office.
El Sinaloense Mariscos & Bar currently operates at a location in Odessa at 512 N. Grant Ave., specializing in traditional Mexican seafood dishes. They are open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Odessa location has received positive reviews for its fresh offerings and service.
Aiming to replicate the Odessa location’s dining experience, the Midland restaurant will offer a similar menu of seafood dishes when it opens. The renovation project is expected to contribute to the area’s growing dining options upon its completion.
