Brighton Mango has emerged as a leader with Teen FLOW Youth Center. A sophomore at Midland High School, Brighton leads Teen FLOW’s “Hype Team,” bringing positivity and energy to youth across Midland.
Brighton’s introduction to Teen FLOW came through his best friend, Adrian Pena, who invited him to a youth ministry event, according to Mango. The “supportive environment,” along with Teen FLOW's transportation services, allowed him to attend weekly programs.
His first experience at Teen FLOW was at an Out of School Bash, where the worship and the atmosphere left an impression. “I always believed in God, but Teen FLOW gave me a place to deepen that relationship,” Mango said.
“Watching those leaders work with staff, I knew I wanted to be involved and give back too,” he said about his journey to Servant Leader.
He’s part of the Hype Team, where he helps “energize the crowd” and set the tone for program activities. He helps organize group games and tournaments to lead chants and his involvement ensures that events run smoothly, said Executive Director Jainah Clark.
“At Teen FLOW, we promote progress over perfection, and Brighton’s development as a leader embodies that. His commitment and growth are inspiringm” said Teen FLOW’s Programs Director Xane Villa.
Mango participates in Unified Athletics, Debate, Yearbook, Black Student Union, and Culinary at Midland High School. Graduating in 2026, he hopes to pursue a medical career, blending his passion for helping others with a role in service. Meanwhile, he plans to continue mentoring at Teen FLOW, sharing skills he’s gained, he said.
