Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest and Midland Memorial Hospital are marking the second anniversary of the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Midland Memorial Hospital. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6th, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a reception. The event is sponsored by ChampionX.
“RMHC of the Southwest has a vision to create a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children. The Ronald McDonald Family Room at MMH is part of how we are working towards that vision. The Family Room provides families a place to rest and regroup while remaining just steps away from their child in the hospital. We are grateful to Midland Memorial Hospital and the Midland community for partnering with us over the past two years and look forward to many more years to come,” said Emmanuel Ramirez, President & CEO of RMHC of the Southwest.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room offers families a personal respite within the hospital as their children undergo medical treatment. It includes amenities like a living room, kitchen, and laundry facilities to help ease anxiety in a hospital setting while keeping families close to their hospitalized children. Since its inception, it has served over 800 families free of charge. The room now operates six days a week thanks to volunteers from Midland.
“We are grateful to be celebrating two years of our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities and offering this resource to our families at Midland Memorial Hospital,” said Lori Dyess, Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at MMH. “A comfortable place for families to gather close to their child while receiving medical care is irreplaceable.”
Located on the fourth floor near the main lobby, this facility continues supporting families during challenging times.
