Addy Keener has attended Trinity School of Midland since her freshman year, participating in academic, athletic, and arts programs. Originally from San Antonio, she encountered challenges in reaching her potential before transferring to Trinity, where she found teachers who supported her progress.
"The size of the school allows the teachers to really care about their students," Keener said.
As a freshman, Keener joined a student-led debate on Congress and the House of Representatives, despite having limited knowledge of the subject. With guidance from her teachers, she finished in the top two, according to Keener.
Her preferred subjects are English and creative writing, with a focus on poetry and classic literature. She said that creative writing provides her with opportunities to explore storytelling and language.
Outside the classroom, Keener participates in AEP Photography, where she studies how images can communicate messages.
Trinity School’s programs, including its hands-on history curriculum, have contributed to Keener’s learning experience by offering opportunities to engage with the material.
