Rene Valdez Sanchez, Remembered as Devoted Family Man and Servant of the Lord

Rene Valdez Sanchez, 73, passed away on October 1, 2024, ascending to his heavenly home. He was born on October 22, 1950, in Douglas, Arizona, to Angelina Ortega (Angie) and Paul Sanchez. Rene married Sheree Sanchez in 1992 and inspired his son, Dusty Piper, to be a caring and responsible man. He retired in 2015 from the City of Odessa and enjoyed time with his family and pets.

Rene is survived by his wife, Sheree Sanchez; son, Dusty Piper, and daughter-in-law, Carol Piper; sister, Olga Rivas; brother-in-law, Luis Rivas, and other family members. A viewing will be held on October 15, 2024, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Funeral Home, with funeral services on October 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at American Heritage Cemetery.
