Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in chicken salad, is set to open its first location in Midland County on Oct. 2. The new restaurant, located at 200 Spring Park Drive in the Ally Village shopping center, will be the 34th Chicken Salad Chick in Texas. The announcement was made in a press release on Sept. 25.

"We're excited to bring Chicken Salad Chick's delicious flavors to residents of Midland County," said Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick, in the release. "Midland is a rapidly growing, health-conscious community, and we're excited to become a part of it."

According to the release, to celebrate the grand opening, the first 100 guests in line will have the chance to win free chicken salad for a year. The first guest will receive one large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week for an entire year, while the next 99 guests will receive one large Quick Chick per month for a year.

Throughout the week, additional promotions will take place:

  • Oct. 3: The first 75 guests to purchase a Chick Meal will receive a free 40oz Chicken Salad Chick tumbler.
  • Oct. 4: The first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio will receive a free Chicken Salad Chick cutting board.
  • Oct. : The first 50 guests to purchase a Small Quick Chick will receive a free Small Quick Chick on their next visit.
The Midland location is owned by mother-daughter team Liz Sevcik and Alexis Thompson. Both women have backgrounds in nursing and education, and they aim to bring their community-focused approach to their new business. Sevcik has over 30 years of experience as a nurse, while Thompson has been a fourth-grade teacher for eight years. Thompson plans to continue teaching before transitioning full-time to the restaurant.

"We decided to become Chicken Salad Chick franchise owners not only because of the food, but because of what the brand represents," said Thompson. "My mom and I were truly inspired by the story of the founder, Stacy Brown, and the brand's mission to 'Spread Joy, Enrich Lives, and Serve Others.' Midland is in need of fresh, healthy dining options, so we're excited to bring those to our community very soon."

The Midland location is the first of three planned by Sevcik and Thompson, with additional locations to open in Odessa and San Angelo. The new restaurant will be managed by Sevcik’s son, Luke Sevcik.

As part of its pre-opening events, the Midland restaurant will raise money for Gifts of Hope, a local organization that provides support and lodging for cancer patients and their families.

Chicken Salad Chick of Midland will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.chickensaladchick.com.
