High school students and the community are invited to visit representatives from over 70 colleges during College Night at Midland College (MC).
According to a news release from MC, the event will take place on Sept. 25 at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center from 6 to 8 p.m. College Night is backed by the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO). Representatives from various institutions will be available to discuss post-secondary opportunities with attendees. The initiative aims to provide crucial information about educational programs that align with students' desired careers.
"This event embodies our commitment to fostering community, enhancing student success, and ensuring access to various educational pathways," said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy. "We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to explore their options and find the right fit for their future, and College Night is an excellent platform to facilitate those connections."
Parents are encouraged to attend College Night with students as it provides a forum to begin discussing college choices at home, according to the news release. Scholarship and prize drawings will also be held throughout the evening. Midland Independent School District (ISD) is also celebrating "Go Get It Week" with campuses planning activities to educate students about post-secondary education.
