The Museum of the Southwest is gearing up for its annual SeptemberFest, with a weekend full of art, science, and entertainment on Sept. 21-22, and an exclusive preview party on Sept. 20. This year's event promises exciting new features and attractions for the entire family, making it one of the most anticipated fundraisers of the year.

"We are bringing in artists from all over the country, as well as some beloved local members of West Texas," said Mary Katherine Marshall, Senior Director of Development and Communications. "It’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and community."

In addition to the art exhibits, visitors can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences. STEM-focused magic shows and hands-on art projects are designed to engage younger attendees, while Midland College will conduct live science experiments. Current campus exhibitions will also be open for visitors to explore.

"The magic shows, astronaut appearance from Space Nation, and science experiments are just some of the many highlights," Marshall said.

New to this year’s event is a more accessible ticket pricing structure—admission for adults is set at $10, while children can attend for free.

"We wanted to ensure this event is accessible to as many families as possible," said Marshall. "This is a key part of our mission to provide enriching experiences without cost being a barrier."

SeptemberFest is one of the museum's largest annual fundraisers, supporting its broader mission of offering unique programming in arts, science, history, and culture.

"The funds raised during SeptemberFest allow us to continue offering affordable admission and exciting opportunities throughout the year," said Marshall. "Community support during this event is crucial for maintaining our commitment to accessibility and excellence."

With new features like food trucks, artist demonstrations, and a magic show by Bronson Chadwick, this year’s SeptemberFest promises to be bigger and better than ever.
