Fair to Midland’s popular Yappy Hour is more than just a dog-friendly gathering spot—it’s a celebration of community and charity. Hosted every third Tuesday of the month, Yappy Hour has become a beloved event for both dog lovers and their four-legged companions.

According to Bri Domowitz, Fair to Midland's events, marketing and social media manager, the turnout is always strong.

“We generally have a really good turnout with a patio full of dogs!” she said.

The event has grown significantly since its inception. Initially created as a fun social hour, the first Yappy Hour partnered with Camp Bow Wow, benefiting a local dog charity in Midland.

Domowitz explained the motivation behind this addition: "We wanted to take the event from fun and dog-friendly to supporting a cause as well. We love being part of the Midland community, and giving back where we can is a key component of our values as a company."

Over time, Yappy Hour has evolved into more than just a casual hangout for dog owners. In addition to the charity partnerships, the event now includes raffles and matches donations from beer and liquor companies, further increasing its impact.

“We went from just a dog-friendly social hour to including a raffle for charity, and we’ve even hosted adoption events to maximize awareness and donations,” Domowitz said.

The inclusion of small businesses popping up their boutiques during the event has added a new layer of community involvement, showcasing Fair to Midland’s commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs.

Yappy Hour has become a go-to event in Midland, blending hospitality with purpose.

“Midland has been good to us, so we want to be good to Midland,” Domowitz said.

The goal of Yappy Hour is to create a space where dog lovers can gather, while also supporting local charities and small businesses.

One of the most popular features is the "pup cup," a simple yet crowd-pleasing treat for dogs.

“Pup cups are just a tiny cup of whipped cream with a dog treat on top,” Domowitz said.

As Yappy Hour continues to thrive, Fair to Midland welcomes any pet-friendly vendors or charities interested in getting involved.
