The Texas Leadership Charter Academy (TLCA) begins its Varsity football season Friday night, August 30 against Balmorhea at Grande Stadium. The game will kick-off at 7:30 PM.
“We are excited for a new sports season!” said TLCA Athletic Director Angalyn Latin. Friday’s game marks the start of a new chapter under the leadership of Head Coach Gavin Morris, with Assistant Coaches Dru Taylor and Chase Burton by his side.
The Eagles, who compete in the Texas Christian Athletic League (TCAL), are coming off a season where they posted an overall record of 4-7, ranking third in their district with a 1-0 record, according to MaxPreps.com.
The team holds a national ranking of 1,060 and a state ranking of 185. TLCA is focused on improving its record in the 2023-2024 season.
The school offers a physical education program that includes competitive team sports, including Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field, according to the school’s website.
