The Rhea Lana’s of Midland-Odessa consignment event is back for its 21st installment, bringing the community together for a week of shopping, selling and savings. Held twice a year, once in February and again in September, this event has become a staple for local families seeking to buy and sell gently used children's items.

Natalie Nolan, the franchise owner of Rhea Lana’s of Midland-Odessa, is the driving force behind this event. A mother of six, Nolan was inspired to start the business ten years ago as a way to make money from the clothes her children had outgrown.

"I wanted a smart way to make money off the clothes they had outgrown, while also being able to shop and clothe my children in boutique outfits without breaking the bank," Nolan said. "When I found Rhea Lana's online, I knew that families in West Texas would love it!"

Each event attracts about 1,200 consigning families and 3,500 shoppers throughout the week. This fall’s event is expected to be no different, with over 100,000 gently used children’s items available for purchase. There's something for everyone, from high-quality children’s clothes and shoes to toys, books, and gear for babies.

"Consigning is a wise way for families to sell the clothing, shoes, toys, and baby gear that their children outgrow," Nolan said. "It also helps families shop for the next season. Many families make enough to cover all the shopping for the next season of clothing. Plus, it doesn’t get more local than Rhea Lana’s—60 cents of every dollar spent goes straight back into the pockets of over 1,200 local families."

In addition to the opportunity to shop and consign, Rhea Lana’s provides temporary employment for over 100 staff members each season.

"Rhea Lana’s is moms helping moms," said Nolan. "I desire to create a meaningful community and bring value to local families through consigning and shopping."

The fall event starts with a private presale from Sept. 6-7, followed by the public sale from Sept. 8-11.

"Wear comfy shoes," Nolan said, as the event promises to be a busy one.

With its highly organized, family friendly environment, Rhea Lana’s of Midland-Odessa has earned national recognition, including being named one of the TOP 10 Consignment Events nationwide by Consignment Mommies and winning Franchise of the Year in 2022.
