Midland County Courthouse undergoing renovations on seventh floor

A portion of the seventh floor at the Midland County Courthouse is currently undergoing a $136,007 renovation, according to a filing with a state regulatory agency.

According to the filing, a storage area on the seventh floor of the courthouse is being renovated into three new offices to match existing space, with mechanical, fire, and electrical requirements. The project has the working title of Midland County Courthouse - 7th Floor IT Renovation.

The courthouse is located at 500 N. Loraine. The renovation was expected to begin on Aug. 15 and run until Oct. 31. Director of Facilities and Operations at Midland County Eddie Melendez is in charge of the project.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Melendez has been in his current role since January 2021 and previously worked as a facilities operation supervisor for Cushman & Wakefield. He also worked in a similar capacity for Pioneer Resources Company for over five years.
