A local facility that seeks to enhance the behavioral and developmental health and wellness of people within the community will undergo a $756,000 renovation, according to a filing with a state regulatory agency.
PermiCare’s Midland office will undergo an interior remodel of its existing 4,190 square-foot building, according to the filing. The working title of the project, the PermiaCare 400 N Carver Build B Remodel, takes its cue from its physical address, 400 N. Carver Building B.
According to the filing, the project is expected to begin on Aug. 16 and run until Aug. 30, 2025. The local design firm Pate Architects is on board the project team. The Foundation for Mental Health Mental Retardation of the Permian Basin, led by CEO Chris Barnhill, is the parent company of PermiCare.
The city and county established the foundation in 1969 after an act of the 1965 Texas State Legislature, according to the company’s website. Over the years, the company has expanded to Odessa, Alpine, Fort Stockton, Van Horn and Presidio.
