Sewell Family of Companies will expand current Midland locations with a new, larger facility. The firm will add a location at Avalon and Deauville Boulevard.
Sewell is a "family of dealerships" founded in 1911 that operates 19 locations across Texas to sell automobile brands, parts, and services. The company has expanded and diversified over the years to include ventures such as E.F. Outfitters, Parks Legado and others, according to the company’s website.
The new Midland development will include new auto showrooms for BMW, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC, along with service centers. The development will cover roughly 25 acres, and will feature an E.F. Outfitters store and Press Cafe, according to Maybe Midland-Odessa Facebook Group.
Ryan McFadden with the Sewell Family of companies told Midland Times the company hosted a groundbreaking for its new facility on July 25. The new facility will combine existing Midland BMW and Buick, GMC and Cadillac locations.
Sewell has three major dealerships in recent years. In 2017, they acquired BMW of the Permian Basin off Highway 191, followed by the Cadillac, Buick, and GMC store off Wall Street in 2019, and the Odessa Cadillac Store in 2020. Sewell Ford is the exclusive Cadillac dealership in the Permian Basin, according to the company.
