Midland Run Crew (MRC) announced its schedule of fitness opportunities for families and individuals of all ages and fitness levels. The group was established in 2016 as an alternative fitness community for families in the Midland area. It has expanded to become a non-profit organization through word of mouth and regular events, or “meetups.”

"I want families to come out and get active! Come walk, run, ride your bike, or push a scooter,” MRC founder, Robert Gomez told the Midland Times. “Not only is it good for your body, but it’s good for your family!" he said.

MRC organizes several regular meetups each week.  It’s current schedule provides opportunities for all local residents:

  • Thursday Evenings: Family walk and run nights at Tall City Brewing, exploring local neighborhoods.
  • Track Tuesdays: Training sessions at Memorial Stadium.
  • Rise & Run: High-Intensity Interval Training workouts at Centennial Park.
  • Saturdays: Long runs of six miles or more at Memorial Stadium.
Several local companies help support MRC, including Diamondback Energy, Tall City Brewing, and Pioneer Natural Resources.

Midland Run Crew has approximately 80 members of different ages and fitness levels. Gomez encourages families to participate, and emphasizes the benefits of physical activity.

A member appreciation program is also offered through Midland Run Crew, which includes options such as an annual social event, clothing, and other activities to foster community spirit.
