Midland City Council will be asked on Tuesday, Jan. 25 to award a $4.2 million contract for the Garfield Street Paving Bond Project to Reece Albert of San Angelo, Texas. The council will also be asked to add an $837,551—or 20%—contingency for the project.
According to the Midland City Council June 25 agenda packet, Reece Albert was the sole bidder and was determined to be a successful bidder for the $5 million project. The contractor has an established history with the city performing work of a similar scale and scope.
The project will include the removal, replacement, and installation of existing and proposed paving and sidewalk infrastructure. It will also encompass sidewalk infrastructure and accessories necessary, as well as all equipment labor and materials required to complete the work.
The project involves paving Garfield Street from Country Club to Louisiana.
