Liz Ford, General Manager for Homewood Suites by Hilton in Midland, has worked for more than six years with the Hilton organization. Ford emphasizes mentorship, fosters cultural respect, and offers support for all staff, including those aiming for leadership roles.
"I lead with respect for all," she told Midland Times. Ford said she values kindness as essential to leadership and advocates for setting high expectations for oneself and others.
The Midland Homewood Suites by Hilton has 29 employees, 18 of whom come from four different countries. “It’s my honor to help them thrive here at work and in their private lives,” Ford said. “Giving individuals a second chance or a first time job is important to me.”
Ford said she advocates a compassionate approach, and encourages first and second chance employment. She suggests that the prevailing "supportive culture" at Homewood Suites by Hilton is the reason job vacancies are rare at the company.
