Midland Memorial Hospital (MMH) announced that President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stephen Bowerman has been named on Becker's Hospital Review’s Healthcare Top 160 Community Hospital CEOs to Know for 2024 list. Becker’s Hospital Review is a medical industry trade magazine published by Illinois-based ASC Communications.

According to a June 18 Facebook post, MMH expressed gratitude for Bowerman’s leadership and commitment to healthcare excellence.

Becker’s Hospital Review stated in a June 18 press release that it created the list based on nominations and editorial research. The publication added that the list is not exhaustive nor an endorsement of leaders or associated healthcare providers.

The release describes Bowerman as "a transformative leader" whose primary accomplishments include overseeing the $157 million facility project at MMH, raising the standard of care, and expanding healthcare services for patients.

According to MMH’s website, Bowerman has worked as a hospital administrator in the Permian Basin since 1999. He joined MMH in early 2009, taking on the positions of senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Bowerman, who hails from Kermit in West Texas, holds a master’s degree from Texas Tech University (TTU) and a bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). He is married with two children.
