West Texas Symphony (WTS) announced that subscriptions for its 2024-2025 season will go on sale on June 26. The sale is open to new subscribers as the date for current subscribers to renew their seats has passed.

According to the non-profit organization’s website, the upcoming season marks WTS’s 62nd year of performing live symphonic music.

WTS, which consists of over 100 musicians, is conducted by Gary Lewis.

Interested individuals can subscribe online at https://www.wtxs.org/concerts/24-25-season.html. They can choose from the Grand Series, Masterworks Series, Pops & Family Series, and Chamber Series.

Those who subscribe to Masterworks can also attend Symphony Soundbites, a pre-show dinner, for $30 on September 7, 2024; November 9, 2024; January 11, 2025; and April 12, 2025.

According to WTS’s website, it was founded in 1962 when two Permian Basin orchestras decided to combine as what was then known as the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale under Dr. Lara Hoggard. The group’s name was changed in 2022.

Odessa American reported that WTS unveiled the schedule for its upcoming season in May. The publication reported that the season is slated to begin with "American Stories," a celebration of William Grant Still’s Symphony No. 1, on September 7.
