Grand Companion will hold its regular Hike with Homeless Pets event at Sibley Nature Center on Thursday, June 6, from 9am to 10am, at 1307 E Wadley Ave in Midland.
Grand Companion brings several adoptable dogs to the event, and occasionally an adoptable cat or kitten in a cat backpack. Participants can choose a dog at the event as a walking partner. According to Cullen Monaco, an employee at Grand Companion, the pets benefit from time away from the facility and learn valuable social skills.
Pets participating in the hike are available for adoption. Grand Companion also hosts numerous adoption events throughout West Texas and the Davis Mountain area, according to Monaco.
