Pfluger announces winner of 2024 congressional art competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) has announced the winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for the 11th Congressional District of Texas: Killeen High School senior Emily Parsons with her piece titled "The American Dream." Emily’s artwork depicts a family at sunset, symbolizing American prosperity and happiness. The winning piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., for a year, where it can be viewed by visitors and Members of Congress.

Congressman Pfluger's office also awarded Regional Winners as follows:

- Midland Region: Angel Naila, Trinity School Midland

- San Angelo Region: Paris Lack, Texas Online Preparatory Program

- Llano Region: Jennifer Barcenas, San Saba High School

- Brownwood Region: Sunny Groom, Early Middle School

- Killeen Region: Amarilis Muniz, Killeen High School

"Congratulations to Emily Parsons for taking home the first-place prize in the 2024 Congressional Art Competition, and well done to all the regional winners! It is wonderful to see these awesome students leveraging their natural talents and creating art that highlights the spirit of America.
