The Midland Chamber recently announced the return of its officials who had embarked on a trip to Washington, D.C., in collaboration with the Odessa Chamber of Commerce. The excursion, referred to as the Washington Fly-In, saw representatives from the Permian Basin chambers spending a week engaging with key policymakers and discussing issues vital to their region.

Among the highlights of this trip were meetings with U.S. Rep. August Pfluger (R-San Angelo) and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Pfluger shared his experience on his Facebook page, saying that he thoroughly enjoyed hosting them on the morning of April 30. Cruz stated that West Texas is an entrepreneurial hub that has transformed the nation into a leading exporter.

The Midland Chamber expressed its determination to implement new ideas gleaned from this journey.

This trip was made possible through sponsorship by several organizations including Diamondback Energy, Chevron Permian, Pioneer Natural Resources Company, ProPetro Services Inc., Frost Bank, Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., and Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Currently under the leadership of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Evan Thomas, the Midland Chamber can be reached at (432) 683-3381 or info@midland.biz for further information or inquiries.
