The annual Be The Change Permian Basin Clay Shoot was held at Jake’s Clays on April 26 and “exceeded all expectations” with record attendance, sponsors, and funds.

Endeavor Energy Resources, the presenting sponsor, along with 32 additional sponsors and 204 participants, contributed to the event’s record year, according to Be The Change's April 26 release.

The event featured a clay shooting tournament, followed by a distribution of prizes and a silent auction featuring gift cards and merchandise, according to the release. Gun squares were also featured, offering participants the opportunity to win one of three firearms, and 20 individuals were awarded with a firearm.

"The success of the Be The Change Clay Shoot 2024 contributes to the organization's mission and goals by raising funds for operations and programming, engaging the community, building awareness, and fostering relationships with supporters/volunteers, sponsors, and donors,” Executive Director of Be The Change Permian Basin Haylee McBride told Midland Times. “These funds can be crucial for advancing our mission by providing resources and programs to our students by trained facilitators, or supporting program participants in need."

McBride said that planning, activities, entertainment, marketing, sponsorships, partnerships, volunteer engagement, community support, and fundraising opportunities were additional factors that contributed to the event hitting its record.

"This event provided a valuable opportunity for networking and relationship-building among community partners,” said McBride. “Through community partnerships, we provide students with essential resources to assist them in overcoming whatever obstacles they face and empowering them to succeed in life."
