The Midland Chamber recently embarked on a trip to the nation's capital for the 2024 Washington Fly-In. Accompanied by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, the Midland Chamber aims to utilize this opportunity to engage with influential policymakers and deliberate on issues that are crucial to the Permian Basin.

According to an April 29 Facebook post by the Midland Chamber, the trip is being sponsored by several organizations including Diamondback Energy, Chevron Permian, Pioneer Natural Resources Company, ProPetro Services Inc., Frost Bank, Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., and Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

The Midland Chamber reported that U.S. Representative August Pfluger (R-San Angelo) met with both chambers. Pfluger shared his experience on his own Facebook page, stating that he thoroughly enjoyed hosting them on the morning of April 30.

"It is an honor to represent a region crucial to energy dominance and American prosperity. I hope you all have a great week in our nation’s capital representing Texas-11," said Pfluger.

In regards to their plans for the remainder of their stay in Washington, the Permian Basin chambers intend to advocate for policies that bolster businesses, stimulate economic growth, and generate opportunities for everyone in the region.

The Midland Chamber is currently under the leadership of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Evan Thomas.
