The city of Midland paid tribute to the country music group, also named Midland, by presenting them with a key to the city on April 26. The Mayor of Midland, Lori Blong, handed over the key to the trio - Mark Wystrach, Jess Carson, and Cameron Duddy - in a ceremony at Centennial Park. This event took place before the band's performance at Hacienda Events Center.

Contrary to what one might assume from its name, Lone Star 92.3 reported that Midland does not derive its name from the Permian Basin city. Instead, it draws inspiration from a Dwight Yoakum song titled "Fair to Midland."

The group's performance on April 26 was part of their ongoing "Up In Texas" tour.

According to their background information, Midland traces its roots back to Dripping Springs just outside of Austin.

As stated on the band's website, they are deeply rooted in tradition in terms of both sound and style. They take pride in their humble beginnings as a bar band.

Upon completion of the Up In Texas tour, Midland is set to perform on the festival circuit which will take them as far north as Wyoming.

Concert information can be found on the group's website.
