Two football players from Legacy High School have committed to continue their sporting careers at the collegiate level, as revealed in a post by Midland Independent School District (ISD).

"Two more student athletes committed to playing at the next level today! Congrats to LHS football players Isaac Villasenor and Gilbert Hernandez! Isaac will play at Texas Wesleyan next year, while Gilbert heads to Hardin-Simmons," said ISD, Midland ISD, according to X.

This announcement brings the total number of senior students from the school who have signed up to play college football to 14, according to Rebels head coach Clint Hartman, as reported by the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

"Both those guys will go and be good, good football players," said Hartman. "Both of them are all-district football players. Both of them are program guys. Both of them weren’t projected as starters as sophomores and as juniors, they both started and played a whole lot. They’re going to be missed. I think both are very, very good examples for another guy that is sitting there on the silver (JV) team or the JV team."

As per MaxPreps' records, Villasenor played defensive tackle for the Rebels, standing six-feet tall and weighing 222 pounds. Last year he participated in 12 games and recorded 58 total tackles with 37 of them solo and three tackles for a loss.

MaxPreps also notes that Hernandez served as an outside and middle linebacker for the Rebels. He stands six-feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. Last year, he played in 13 games, recording 85 total tackles including three tackles for a loss.
