Emma Sprague, BSN, RN, a nurse in the Medical Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital, has been awarded the DAISY Award for the month of March. The award recognizes nurses who demonstrate POSITIVE patient care, clinical skills, and compassionate service.
The DAISY Award is presented to one nurse each month at Midland Memorial Hospital, with an annual awards presentation held in May to honor all recipients, according to the Midland Health website. Both the award winner and the person who nominated them, provided enough contact information is available, are notified of the award presentation.
Nurses considered for the DAISY Award exhibit the following qualities: providing high-quality, compassionate care; maintaining a positive attitude and strong customer service skills; ensuring patient safety and advocacy; striving to make each patient and family member's experience exceptional; and representing the profession of nursing with professionalism.
