The City of Midland has boosted Keep Midland Beautiful (KMB) Trash-4-Cash program, making fundraising easier for non-profit groups. According to a Facebook post on Keep Midland Beautiful page, individuals who participate in the KMB Trash 4 Cash program will now earn $10 per person, per hour. This marks a $2.50 increase from the previous rate of $7.50.

In addition, groups can now accumulate up to $600 per cleanup, with an annual earning potential of $3,600. As stated in the Facebook post for example purposes, if a group of 20 individuals dedicates 3 hours each at the new rate, they could earn $600. In comparison, under the previous rate, the same effort would have yielded $450.

The Trash-4-Cash aims to support various non-profits, including school programs, and provides participants with gloves, vests, and trash bags. All that is required from participating groups is their time and effort in picking up litter, and in return, they can earn up to $600 per cleanup, with a yearly cap of $3,600.

The objective of the Trash-4-Cash initiative is to enhance the cleanliness of Midland. Participants are asked to aim for a target of collecting one bag of trash per person, per hour during the paid cleanup effort.

All individuals earning $10 per hour must be a minimum of 8-years-old. KMB will choose the Trash 4 Cash location based on their list of critical needs.
