Permian relay teams excel at the Ford Rogers Tall City Relays

The Permian girls’ relay teams highlighted the runner up performance for the Panthers at the Rogers Ford Tall City Relays on Feb. 9. as all three teams took first place in the meet. Then boys' team also had several big winners, helping he team to third place.

Girls’ meet results:

Permian girls’ team top performers:

The relay teams were huge for the Permian Panthers, with three first place finishes.

The Permian 4x100 meter relay team won their event with a time of 49.66. Runners included Kiarah Allen, Nalaysia Guise, Jamorah Caufield and Amari Bergen.

They also won the 4x200 meter relays with a time of 1:44.28. The team included Allen, Bergen, Caufield and Rivera-Norman.

In the 4x400 meters, Permian won with a time of 4:03.29. The team included Bergen, Rivera-Norman, Arianna Carrasco and Madison Ortiz.

Alivia Rivera-Norman headlined the Permian runners with a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.96.

100 meters: Allen placed second with a time of 12.78. Guise also earned points with her fifth place time of 13.19.

200 meters: Caufield was second with a time of 26.95, and Nahla Feur Hines placed fifth with a time of 27.49.

400 meters: Emma Aguirre was second with a time of 1:03.60.

800 meters: Emma Aguirre was second with a time of 2:28.94. Arianna Carrasco placed sixth with a time of 2:32.55.

1600 meters: Briannah Garcia was ninth with a time of 5:59.85, while Aguirre was 10th with a time of 6:16.95.

300 meter hurdles: Baylee Lisenbee was eighth with a time of 55.37.

High Jump: Aubrey Garza was second with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches and score of eight. Genesis Willard placed third with a height of 4 feet, 10 inches and a score of six.

Long Jump: Feur Hines had a distance of 17 feet, 2 inches for fourth place.

Shot Put: Jazzlyn Tealer placed sixth with a distance of 29 feet, 7 inches.

Discus: Baylee Walker was fifth with a distance of 98 feet, 10 inches. Tealer was sixth with a distance of 90 feet, 4 inches.

Permian boys’ team top performers:

The Panthers had the two top runners in the 800 meters, led by Davin Merrill with a first place time of 1:57.82. Placing second was Braden Young with a time of 2:00.74, and Flint Stephens was fourth with a time of 2:06.31.

Also taking a win was the 4x200 meter relay team with a time of 1:31.23. The team included Noah Adams, Carter Harris, Giancarlo Garcia and Bryan Nash.

Bryan Pry won the discus, as well, with a distance of 157 feet, 4 inches.

100 meters: Tyran Williams was ninth with a time of 11.82.

200 meters: Garcia was sixth with a time of 23.33.

1600 meters: Braden Young placed sixth with a time of 4:53.09.

3200 meters: Dylan Chico was seventh with a time of 10:42.88.

110 meter hurdles: Andy McCrary was fifth with a time of 16.45.

300 meter hurdles: Andy McCrary placed ninth with a time of 44.40.

4x100 meter relays: Permian took third place with a time of 43.63. The team included Garcia, Harris, Adams and Caleb Cruz.

4x400 meter relays: Permian was second with a time of 3:32.79. The team included Harris, Nash, Stephens and Merrill.

Long Jump: Caleb Cruz was sixth with a height of 19 feet, 4 inches.

Triple Jump: Kheeaundre Abdul-Aziz was fourth with a distance of 42 feet, 1 inch.

Shot Put: Coffie Powell was eighth with a distance of 39 feet, 9.5 inches.
