Special guest Sydney Gove reading at Centennial Library’s Toddler Tales | DaLeesa Brown

At a recent storytime event at Midland County Centennial Library, families were surprised by special guest Sydney Gove from Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center. Gove read aloud stories and surprised attendees with free tickets to Wagner Noel’s upcoming shows, including "Baby Shark’s Big Broadwave Tour” and “Bluey’s Big Play.”

The Midland County Public Libraries host weekly storytime sessions for children, and provide space for parents and children to engage in a shared reading experience.

Midland librarians use the sessions to lead children’s groups in singing nursery rhymes and reading. Children are encouraged in the sessions to participate in singing and dancing under the guidance of a librarian. According to librarian Kaitlynn Chick, the children are prompted to move freely and sing along.

Gove read the popular children's stories, "Baby Shark" and "Bluey," to parents and children. At the end of storytime, Gove surprised the audience by giving away free tickets to the upcoming shows at the Wagner Noel in Midland.

The weekly storytime encourages families to come together and explore the world of literature.

Storytime is held every Wednesday at Centennial Library and every Thursday at Library at the Plaza. The schedule includes Book Babies at 10:30 am and Toddler Tales at 11:30 am. The suggested age range for Book Babies is from 0 to 2 years old and Toddler Tales is recommended for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
