Coaches: Legacy- Clint Hartman, Trinity- Aaron Lineweaver

Streaks: Legacy- 4 wins, Trinity- 1 win

At Stake: The Rebels are on a four game winning streak and a bi-district title, and they look to work off that confidence in an area round matchup with Trinity.

What to watch: Midland Legacy is coming off a blowout 64-19 wun over Montwood in the Class 6A b-district round, and the combination of running back Damien Johnson and QB Marcos Davila has proven to be a tough one to slow down.

Johnson had 163 yards on 12 carries with three touchdowns all coming in the first quarter. He was unstoppable and look for the Rebels to rely heavily on their star running back again this week. On the season he has 20 touchdowns and 1,349 yards running at nine yards per carry.

Davila threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns on 17-for-23 passing. His top target was Aiden Serrano with six catches for 47 yards, but two of his touchdowns went to Brex Stephens, who had three catches for 58 yards. Jordan Williams is also a receiver to watch, rounding out a top notch offensive core.

On defense watch for Max Vera who had an interception in the end zone and tallied five tackles. He was a dominant force for the Rebels on the defensive side of the ball, laying down bruising hits and getting between passes for deflections. The Rebel defense also gets excellent contributions across the board, with Gilbert Hernandez, Jace Cohlmia, Joaquin Rocha, Emanuel Lide and Colin Brazzell coming off solid performances in the bi-district game.

Midland Legacy has outscored opponents 521-334 this season.

Trinity has outscored their opponents 505-316 and are coming off a 63-35 win over Timber Creek in the bi-district round.

Running back Josh Bell is a player to watch this week, as he ran for 186 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

TJ Tupou is one to watch at quarterback, as well. Last week he had a solid roll out pass play where he tossed a perfect pass on the run to Caleb Robinson for a 31-yard score.

While it was an offensive battle that was tight in the first half, it was all Trinity after halftime. The team was able to get to the quarterback for sacks and forced fumbles, and capitalize off of turnovers.

Midland Legacy will look to expose their defense, which did give up 403 passing yards in the game.
