Permian (5-4, 2-2) got a big night out of their running back on Friday against San Angelo Central (1-8, 0-4), with Juzstyce Lara rushing for four touchdowns in a 42-14 rout for the Panthers.
Lara scored early and often, starting with a 51-yard touchdown run with 11:07 on the clock to go up 7-0. Lara hit a hole and went to the house completely untouched. With 9:13 left, Noah Adams caught a screen pass from Jakob Garcia and raced down the field for a 77-yard score to make it 14-0. The ensuing kickoff was mishandled by the Bobcats and the Panthers recovered at the Bobcat 38-yard line. Lara scored his second touchdown of the day from a yard out to make it a 21-0 game with 6:52 to go in the opening quarter.
With 9:57 left in the second quarter, Garcia connected with Ben Salvidar for a 59-yard touchdown pass to go up 28-0. It was a perfect toss by Garcia, who hit Salvidar in stride with no defenders to be seen. The Bobcats got on the board with 6:50 left in the half and then again at 4:03 to cut the lead to 28-14 with touchdown passes by Christian English to Colton Hill for 15 yards and Curtis Owens for 37 yards. San Angelo Central was making a push to get back into the game with an interception and then a fake field goal, but the pass was incomplete and it was 28-14 at halftime.

With 6:35 left in the third quarter, Lara scored from three yards away and it was 35-14. With 11:05 remaining in the game, Lara scored for the fourth time on a two-yard run and that was the final.
The four touchdowns for Lara now put his season total at 16 in nine games.
For San Angelo Central, English (36-for-57, 436 yards, two touchdowns, one interception) threw touchdowns to Colton Hill (10 catches, 147 yards) and Owens (1 catch, 37 yards).
Permian ran for 198 yards and passed for 243 yards. They were 8-for-13 on third downs and 1-1 on fourth down conversions. They allowed 441 yards passing and 21 yards rushing.
Permian takes on district rival Midland (8-1, 3-1) on the road on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
