Midland City Council voted to approve a resolution authorizing the purchase of a fitness court that will be set up at Dennis the Menace Park at its October 24 meeting. The city of Midland made the announcement on Facebook, stating, "Stay tuned because we'll be updating you as this exciting addition rolls out."

The fitness court, designed by National Fitness Campaign, aims to provide a full-body workout for people of all ages. It features seven zones for a circuit training workout, including Core, Squat, Push, Lunge, Pull, Agility, and Bend. Additionally, the court comes with an app that allows users to monitor their activity and access training videos. Those without smartphones can view the videos on YouTube.

The town of Pecos in Texas recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its own fitness court at Maxey Park. The court was made possible through a partnership between Pecos, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, and the National Fitness Campaign. Various organizations, including the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District Athletics Department, Reeves County Emergency Service Districts, the Pecos Police Department, Cyclone Ballparks, and the Pecos Area Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitor's Bureau, supported the project.

The addition of the fitness court at Dennis the Menace Park in Midland is expected to provide residents with a new and convenient way to stay active and maintain their fitness goals. The city of Midland will be providing updates on the progress of the court's installation and availability.
