The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the Midland Fire Department (MFD) are gearing up to host Halloween events for the public to enjoy. MCSO will kick off the festivities with "Halloween at the Shoe" at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena on October 14th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sheriff David Criner expressed his excitement for the event in a Facebook video, saying, "Join us for a free night of candy, face painting, jumpers, and fun." He also encouraged attendees to come dressed in costume. The Midland County Horseshoe Arena is located at 2514 Arena Trail in Midland.

According to reports from Odessa ABC station KMID News and FOX station KPEJ News, MFD will host the "Trunk or Treat" Safety Fair and Open House at the Central Fire Station on October 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event aims to educate children and their families about safety, health, and fire prevention in a fun Halloween carnival atmosphere.

The "Trunk or Treat" event will offer various activities, including CPR training, stroke recognition education, carnival games, bucket rides, a combat challenge, fire prevention demonstrations, and fire hose practice. Last year's event drew over 8,000 people, and it is free and open to the public.

Both events provide an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate Halloween in a safe and enjoyable way.
