New York City-based clothing brand Bombas has given the Crisis Center of West Texas (CCWTX) a donation of 5,000 pairs of socks to distribute to those in need. The CCWTX joins Bomba's network of more than 3,500 charitable partners.

“CCWTX and Bombas make a great pair,” the CCWTX wrote in an Aug. 25 Facebook post.

KWES 9 reports that Bombas, which was founded in 2013, has donated more than 100 million items to vulnerable populations. According to the station, the donation made CCWTX a Bombas Giving Partner, adding the Permian Basin network of more than 3,500 partners spanning across the nation.

While primarily known for socks, Bombas, which focuses on comfort, added t-shirts to its clothing line nearly half a decade ago, KWES reports. The company says on its website that each purchase translates into a donation that directly supports overnight shelters, transitional living facilities, street outreach teams, rehabilitation centers, Title 1 schools, and medical professionals.

"These are more than pieces of clothing. To some, they represent a helping hand, a sign of support, or the chance to start a meaningful conversation," the company wrote in a 2022 Impact Report on its website. "We create and distribute essential items of clothing, but the impact goes far beyond just the products."

Per KWES, Bombas Giving Partners have clienteles consisting of survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their young children who flee the situation with little or nothing.

According the CCWTX’s website, the Louise Wood Angel House is available around the clock to those in need of shelter. More information can be obtained by calling (866) 627-4747.
