Midland County Fair hosted its 14th annual County Fair from August 24-27th.
“We have so many vendors,” Kasey Kelly, Executive Director, Midland County Fair said. “ You could buy– you could book a vacation and you could buy a baseball cap. I mean you could do anything you want– and beds, we have a bed vendor. So I mean anything you want to do, you can pretty much find out here.”
The event at the Midland County Horseshoe offered food, music, and games. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held on August 25.
“This year, if you ever wanted to learn how to be an archer, like Legolas and all those cool things you see on TV, we have an archery team here that is willing to come here and show you how to do it yourself," Kelly said. "You’ve got the rugby team. Most people in Midland don’t even know the rugby team is here. They're going to be here playing rugby, showing people how to do it.”
Other activities include the pet parade, hot dog eating contest and chili cook-off.
In addition, NewsWest9 hosted its 'Scoop-A-Palooza' event on August 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Education Building at the Horseshoe Arena, where an eating contest between children ages 9 and under, and ages 10-13, took place.
“It is a family fun, Christian music festival,” Cecilia Reyes, Fundraising Director, Thriving United said. “We are gonna have some local churches performing praise and worship and our headliner is the “Unspoken” group.”
