Midland tennis player Crosby McNeely ranks in Girls’ 16 singles points bracket in week ending May 13

Crosby McNeely of Midland finished 26,421st in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 16 bracket in the week ending May 13.

They earned 14 points to finish the week with 14 single points.

There are 56 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
