Meet Bear

GENDER: Male

BREED: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Mastiff

AGE: Senior

SIZE: Very Large

APPROXIMATE WEIGHT (lbs): 100 lbs

He's big, fluffy, and is very good at making people feel warm and fuzzy after a good snuggle -- meet good ol' BEAR! Bear is a 9 year old male Heeler / Mastiff Mix. While he's on the hefty side (90-100 lbs), he's been hoping for a walking buddy so he can get his beach bod back! Apparently, Bear is a bit of a traveler and likes to venture out of the confines of his backyard. He was found roaming on the streets, where he promptly got himself lost. He was scanned for a microchip, but owners decided to surrender him instead of reclaim him. So here is he is at MHC being slightly mopey at being stuck in a kennel. Bear's ultimate dream is to bask on a sunny beach in the tropics (doesn't he look good on a beach though?). However, being in West Texas, he'd settle for plopping down on your couch while watching the National Geographic channel. Bear is one big laidback goofball who does really well inside a house. He's also an excellent seat/foot warmer. He is very friendly and likes to play with school aged children. But because of his size and strength, he is probably not great for very small kids. He is also not very fond of cats. He seems non-reactive to other dogs and is very much a people-pleaser. Will you give this tender giant some love so he stops moping around? MEET BEAR!
