USTA: Eduardo Abascal of Midland ranks 22,729th in Boys’ 14 singles points bracket in week ending Sept. 17

Eduardo Abascal of Midland finished 22,729th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 14 bracket in the week ending Sept. 17.

They earned no points to finish the week with 50 single points.

Their ranking fell by 194 from the week before.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
