Midland tennis player Vivian Myers ranks in Girls’ 16 singles points bracket in week ending Nov. 13

Vivian Myers of Midland finished 13,103rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 16 bracket in the week ending Nov. 13.

They earned zero points to finish the week with 72 single points.

Their ranking fell by 62 from the week before.

There are 22 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
