Midland tennis player Tyler Stewart ranks in Boys’ 18 singles points bracket in week ending Oct. 30

Tyler Stewart of Midland finished 129th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 18 bracket in the week ending Oct. 30.

They earned zero points to finish the week with 2,231 single points.

Their ranking is unchanged from the week before.

There are 22 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
