The Centers for Children and Families, a nonprofit group that provides counseling, educational and supportive services, is requesting donations from Permian Basin area residents via #PermianBasinGives on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The organization put out the request on its Facebook page Aug. 18 and suggested that it would match some of the donations provided.

“Our therapists are dedicated to making sure that mental health counseling is a priority for all members of our community." the group said on Facebook. "Let's face it-- 2020 has left us ALL more aware of our mental health than EVER! Let's pull together and keep the light on for others.”

The one-day giving opportunity takes place on Aug. 25 from midnight to 11:59 p.m. with a goal of $758, according to PermianBasinGives.org.

The Permian Basin Gives organization has already teamed up with the West Texas Food Bank, the National Guard, and Texas State Troopers in an effort to make sure residents aren’t without food.
