Midland 2023 Bond unveils inaugural advisory committee meeting recap and strategic financial plans

The inaugural meeting of the Midland 2023 Bond Advisory Committee took place on November 29, 2023, and a recap of the proceedings was reported on their official website. The Bond Advisory Committee convened to receive an update on the current status of the 2023 Midland Independent School District (MISD) Bond, which was approved in the beginning of November.


Abbott mourns passing of retired Supreme Court Justice O'Connor

Governor Greg Abbott has joined the nation in mourning the passing of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. O'Connor, who was appointed as the first female Supreme Court Justice in 1981, died at the age of 93. She passed away on December 1st in Phoenix, Arizona due to complications related to advanced dementia and a respiratory illness.


Cruz: 'Farmers in Texas and across the Southwest deserve reliable and predictable water supplies'

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) hailed the U.S. House of Representatives' bipartisan passage of a resolution geared toward ensuring water supplies for Texas farmers. The resolution, written by U.S. Representative Monica de la Cruz (R-TX), intends to alleviate severe water shortages and bolster diplomacy to confirm that Mexico fulfills its annual water delivery commitments. This move comes in response to the ongoing crisis faced by farmers and ranchers due to inconsistent water supply.
