The Midland RockHounds departed Wichita, Kansas, with a four-game losing streak after losing two weekend games to the Wind Surge.
According to a report from the team, Midland fell 5-2 to Wichita on April 13, extending the skid that began on Thursday. Third baseman Brennan Milone's home run in the third inning gave the RockHounds a short-lived 1-0 lead.
Wichita tied the game at one before scoring four runs in the fifth inning to pull ahead of the RockHounds, 5-1. In the eighth inning, outfielder Junior Perez hit Midland's second and last home run of the day to cut the Wind Surge's advantage to 5-2.
The previous day, the RockHounds suffered an 8-4 loss. According to reports, Midland erased a 1-0 early deficit to build a 3-1 advantage in the third inning from a pair of RBI singles hit by Milone and designated hitter Henry Bolte. Milone also reached home due to a throwing error.
The RockHounds' biggest lead of the game turned into a 5-3 deficit when the Wind Surge added four runs in the fifth inning. Catcher Shane McGuire hit a home run in the sixth inning in an attempt to regain control from Wichita, but Rubel Cespedes's three-run home run secured an 8-4 victory for the Wind Surge.
Next for the RockHounds is a six-game home series against the Corpus Christi Hooks at Momentum Bank Ballpark, including a doubleheader on April 19. The first game of this series is scheduled for April 15 at 6:30 p.m.
